8 Delicious Ways To Pair Fruit & Chocolate

When you’re in the mood for something sweet, consider trying something new! After all, cake and ice cream may become boring after a while. Instead, try fruit!

There are plenty of ways to pair dark, white, and milk chocolate with fruit. These pairings can make a boring fruit platter much more fun and interesting and can take your palette to a new level.

Some pairings are better than others, so Legacy Chocolates has compiled this list of ways to pair fruit with chocolate.

1. Strawberries & Dark Chocolate

This one is a classic pairing. Strawberries are intensely sweet, which works well with dark chocolate's slight bitterness and rich taste. This pairing is very popular on Valentine’s Day and other holidays that call for a sweet treat.

Consider pairing strawberries with Legacy Chocolate’s Potion #9 chocolate sauce.

2. Apples & Milk Chocolate

Apples go well with many things, including chocolate! Slice up a Red or Granny Smith apple and dip the slices in a melty milk chocolate sauce.

For extra fun, consider including a dollop of peanut butter, giving an even more delicious pairing an extra kick.

3. Blueberries & White Chocolate

Blueberries are an anti-inflammatory fruit – just one of their many nutritional benefits. But did you know that they pair well with white chocolate?

Since blueberries can be a little tart, they pair well with the smooth richness of white chocolate.

4. Kiwis & Milk Chocolate

Another tart but sweet fruit includes kiwis. While many people may not like them because of their acidity, kiwis are fun and tangy and, coincidentally, pair really well with milk chocolate.

You can dip slices in melted milk chocolate and perhaps include a marshmallow for a little extra sweetness to balance the kiwi’s acidity.

5. Mangos & White Chocolate

This one is a little more of a unique pairing. Mangos and white chocolate are both very sweet, which pairs well and adds new flavor profiles together.

Some people might need to acquire a taste for this tropical fruit, but paired with white chocolate, who can resist?

6. Cherries & Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate and cherries are a very popular combination. Depending on the variety, cherries are sweet and a little tart and can pair very well with dark chocolate.

You can already find many candies and chocolates that include cherries, but try making your own with freshly pitted cherries and some melted dark chocolate.

7. Raspberries & White Chocolate

Raspberries are a top fruit for their delicious, sweet flavor. They have similar health benefits to blueberries and can also lower blood pressure.

So, for a little treat, pair your raspberries with a little white chocolate to mix things up.

8. Pears & Dark Chocolate

Pears are an underrated fruit. They are sweet and a little tangy, different from apples, and pair well with dark chocolate.

You can even try drizzling a pear slice with dark chocolate and honey or cinnamon for a little extra fun.
